Dhaka: The interim government has sought an explanation from the officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station, demanding clarification on the grounds for the arrest of Md. Azizur Rahman, a rickshaw puller, from Dhanmondi 32 in the capital as a suspect in a case.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has initiated a probe to examine any possible inconsistencies in the recent activities and statements of the police officer involved in the arrest. The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing released a statement today highlighting these developments.

In the course of investigating Azizur Rahman’s involvement in the case, an urgent report submission has been mandated under Section 173(A) of the recently amended CrPC. This step underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in the handling of the case.
