Government primary schools will remain open till 20th Ramadan this year, said Md Zakir Hossain, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education on Saturday.
The state minister made the announcement while attending centenary celebration program of Khanjan Mara Government Primary School in Rowmari upazila in Kurigram.
He said the decision was taken to recoup the loss during lockdown induced by Covid-19 pandemic.
He urged the students to be studious as they are the future of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Dipu Moni said, “Student’s educational losses might not be recouped completely in this academic year,” while visiting Barishal airport on Saturday
She said, “During the lockdown we could not reach more than 60-65 per cent of students through online classes and television but more than 93 per cent were reached through assignments.”
