Dhaka: Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad) today announced that the government will take initiatives to reduce the cost of the Hajj package for 2027, taking into account the overall situation and the needs and facilities of the pilgrims.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Minister made this statement in response to a starred tabled question by treasury bench member Lutfur Rahman (Cox’s Bazar-3) in parliament. He highlighted that the planning for the Hajj operations for 2026 is nearly complete following the announcement of the Hajj package.
Kaikobad further explained that expenses related to both the Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh phases of the pilgrimage have been settled. Additionally, he confirmed that all necessary activities, including visa processing, have been finalized in accordance with the Saudi timeline, with Hajj flights scheduled to commence on April 18.
