Dhaka: The interim government has launched a toll-free hotline, Helpline 16357, aimed at addressing workers’ dissatisfaction and closely monitoring labor conditions, particularly in the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector, ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a statement from the Labor and Employment Ministry announced that the service has been introduced in collaboration with the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE). The helpline is designed to address emerging issues within factories, providing a resource for workers to voice concerns and seek assistance.

The establishment of this helpline reflects a proactive approach by the government to ensure the well-being of workers and maintain stability in the labor sector during a critical period. The initiative underscores the importance of maintaining open lines of communication between workers and authorities, particularly in an industry as vital as the RMG sector.
