Rajshahi: Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP, emphasized that the government is committed to the welfare of the common people, ensuring support for the poor and disadvantaged. He highlighted the efforts being made to provide regular assistance through the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to support helpless, destitute, and low-income individuals. He stated that all Members of Parliament are accountable under the directives of the Prime Minister in these efforts. “We are working while ensuring accountability to the people,” he said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the lawmaker made these remarks while serving as the chief guest at an event held in the Paba Upazila Parishad meeting room. At the event, humanitarian aid cheques were distributed among beneficiaries. Advocate Milon also mentioned that family cards and agriculture cards would be distributed in phases in Paba Upazila, aiming to further benefit common people and farmers.
The programme, organized by the Paba Upazila administration, distributed cheques worth Tk 5 lakh among 110 disadvantaged families. Paba Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ibnul Abedin, who presided over the function, noted that the administration is diligently working to ensure that government assistance reaches genuine beneficiaries with transparency and accountability.
The event was conducted by Upazila Youth Development Officer Jahurul Islam. Other notable attendees included Paba Upazila BNP Member Secretary Abdur Razzak, Joint Convener Sultan Ahmed, Darshanpara Union BNP President Abdus Salam, Women Affairs Officer Fatema Khatun, Upazila Statistics Officer Faruk Hossain, Upazila Cooperatives Officer Sultanul Islam, along with officials from different departments and local dignitaries.
