Manikganj:Food Minister Afroza Khanam Rita announced that the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is actively working on improving rural road infrastructure to enhance communication for local communities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister made this statement during the inauguration of two roads from Gilanda Bazaar to Tara toll plaza and from Gilanda Central Mosque to Gilanda Eidgah maidan. These roads were initially constructed 23 years ago when her father, Harunor Rashid Khan, was a minister, but they have fallen into disrepair over time.

The initiative to maintain these roads aims to alleviate the hardships faced by local residents. The two roads, measuring 1500 meters and 1000 meters, play a crucial role in connecting various parts of the village and are being implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED).

The inauguration event was attended by Executive Engineer of Power Grid Dewan Gias Mahmud and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Manikganj Sadar, among others.
