Dhaka: The government has initiated a program aimed at distributing seeds and fertilizers to 11,870 small and marginal farmers in Shibganj upazila of the district for the cultivation of Robi crops during the current season. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Azahar Ali inaugurated the program, which is spearheaded by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department, at the farmer training hall.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative witnessed the presence of Assistant Commissioner (Land) Taufiq Aziz, Upazila Agriculture Officer Nayan Mia, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Sanjay Kumar Sarkar, and officials from various departments. The incentive program is structured to distribute resources effectively among the farmers: 7,000 farmers will receive wheat seeds, 4,200 will get mustard seeds, 50 will get groundnut seeds, 100 will receive winter onion seeds, 200 will be provided with lentil seeds, 300 will get khesari seeds, and 20 will receive arhar seeds along with chemical fertilizers.
