The government is distributing 1381.48 metric tonnes of rice among 5, 48, 868 distressed people in the district ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Under the Vulnerable Group Feeding Programme (VGF), the rice has been allotted under the 1,38,148 VGF Cards of 68 unions in the district.
Each person gets 10kgs of rice under the programme.
Apart from this, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) has distributed 15500 Eid dresses among the distressed people in 31 wards in the city. The Eid dresses include 12,400 pieces of sarees and 3,100 pieces of Lungi.
