Dhaka: The Directorate of the Government Accommodation has issued a directive instructing officials and employees to take possession of houses allocated to them within ten days of receiving the allotment order. This announcement aims to address the issue of numerous government-owned residential properties remaining unoccupied for extended periods.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the directorate highlighted that several houses have been left vacant as some allotment recipients have not taken possession of their designated properties. The statement emphasized the need for these recipients to act promptly, or alternatively, to notify the Housing Directorate if they are unwilling to occupy the allotted houses.
Officials have noted that certain recipients have requested changes to their house allocations or have sought to cancel their allotments altogether. The Directorate of Government Accommodation assigns these houses based on specific categories and conditions, aiming to ensure efficient utilization of government housing resources.
