Dhaka: The government has designated services provided by the National Board of Revenue (NBR), including operations at customs houses, inland container depots, bond commission rates, and customs stations, as ‘essential services’. This decision aims to safeguard essential trade and foreign commerce in the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Ministry of Labour and Employment issued a gazette notification to this effect, with the document signed by its secretary, A H M Shafiquzzaman. The gazette highlighted the importance of these services in achieving the government’s revenue collection targets and maintaining dynamic financial management.
