Dhaka: The government today approved a proposal in principle to not implement the 'Rectification and Upgradation of CETP and Establishment of SWM at BSCIC Tannery Industrial Estate, Dhaka' under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model. This decision was made during the 19th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs, held at the Bangladesh Secretariat and chaired by Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed.

This proposal involves taking necessary measures in accordance with the Public Procurement Act-2006 and the Chittagong Port Authority Act 2022. It aims to conduct operations of the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT), including the overflow yard, under the Chittagong Port Authority's own management for six months or until a new operator is appointed.
