Govt compensates 22 more people for acquiring land in Rajshahi

The government has given Taka 3.12 crore as compensation to 22 more people for acquiring their land for various development projects in the district.

The government has acquired their lands for implementation of seven projects, including city road widening and improvement by Rajshahi City Corporation and surface water treatment by RWASA and BKSP regional centre establishment.

The cheques of compensated money were distributed at a function at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) here on Sunday afternoon.

DC Abdul Jalil accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shariful Haque distributed the cheques saying the government is very much positive to compensate the people whose lands are acquired for the projects timely.

He also said the present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing diversified projects for overall development of the country.

DC Jalil urged all quarters to extend their wholehearted cooperation for successful implementation of the projects.

Earlier, 314 other affected landowners were given Taka 61.45 crore as compensation for the same purposes in eight consecutive phases in the district.
