Dinajpur: Social Welfare Minister Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain emphasized the government's dedication to safeguarding the fundamental rights of citizens during a recent conference at Hakimpur upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Zahid highlighted the government's commitment to distributing facilities, assistance, and support to the public with transparency and accountability. He assured that actions are being taken responsibly across all sectors to uphold these fundamental rights.
Speaking as the chief guest at a workers' conference and view exchange meeting, the minister underscored the importance of providing educational assistance to students from impoverished and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. He stressed the need for equitable distribution of government aid and encouraged the involvement of children in sports and cultural activities to nurture them into responsible citizens.
Minister Zahid also recognized the efforts of BNP in uniting the nation, transcending religious and caste differences. He urged religious leaders and educators to play a pivotal role in preserving societal morals and values.
Addressing the political landscape, he called upon BNP grassroots leaders and democratic citizens to resist any attempts to disrupt national harmony, condemning past authoritarian actions such as oppression and enforced disappearances. He assured that justice will prevail for those affected by such acts, with the government working diligently towards this aim.
The event, chaired by Khatta Madhabpara Union BNP President Md. Shamsul Islam, saw participation from local BNP leaders at both upazila and union levels.
