Rajshahi: Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam visited patients receiving treatment at Rajshahi Medical College (RMCH) Hospital who were injured in the tragic road accident in Kalihati, Tangail. At the time, he said the government would bear the cost of their treatment.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Deputy Commissioner visited RMCH this morning to inquire about the physical condition of the injured patients. He spoke with doctors to obtain detailed information about the progress of their treatment and assured the provision of all necessary support.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner informed journalists that 17 people were killed in the horrific road accident that occurred on Monday. Several of the injured were transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. He mentioned that four injured individuals currently undergoing treatment at the hospital are out of danger.
He reiterated that the government will cover all expenses for the treatment of the injured. Instructions have been issued to the relevant authorities to ensure there is no shortfall in providing treatment.
The Deputy Commissioner also stated that special measures have been taken by the district administration to ensure discipline and safety on the roads ahead of Eid.
