Sylhet: The government has empowered four BCS administration cadre officers with executive magistracy to lead mobile courts in Sylhet, Chattogram, and Rajshahi. This delegation is intended to bolster the administration of justice in these regions by employing mobile courts effectively.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Ministry of Public Administration has issued separate notifications specifying that these officers will conduct mobile courts under Section 10(5) of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) of 1898, and Section 5 of the Mobile Courts Act 2009. This move aims to enhance legal oversight and enforcement in the designated areas.
The officers assigned are Razia Akter Chowdhury, estate and law officer of the Chattogram zone of the roads and highway department; Abdullah Al Mamun, executive magistrate of Rajshahi Unnayan Katripakhha; Afroza Habib, executive magistrate at the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) in Sylhet; and Nilufa Yeasmin, divisional director of the environment department in Rajshahi. These officers are tasked with maintaining communication with the relevant district magistrates regarding their activities and, if necessary, coordinating with other executive magistrates across various government organizations.
