Govt. Appoints Matiur Rahman Chowdhury as Bangladesh Press Council Member

Dhaka: The government has officially nominated Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, the Chief Editor of the Daily Manabzamin, as a member of the Bangladesh Press Council. This decision was communicated through a notification released by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Matiur Rahman Chowdhury has been chosen to represent the editors’ council of newspapers and news agencies. He will be taking over the position from Nurul Kabir, the Editor of New Age, who had previously resigned from the post.



The tenure of Matiur Rahman Chowdhury as a member will last until the current council’s term concludes. Prior to this, the government had appointed 12 distinguished individuals as members of the Bangladesh Press Council.
