Dhaka: The government has set new jet fuel prices for March at the consumer level.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has issued an order stipulating that the price of jet fuel for domestic flights will be Tk 112.41 per litre, which includes duty and VAT.

For international flights operated by both domestic and foreign airlines, the price has been set at 73 cents per litre, excluding duty and VAT. BERC released a notification regarding these changes this afternoon, specifying that the new prices will be effective from 12 midnight tonight.

The notification detailed that this decision followed a public hearing, as well as a comprehensive review and analysis based on proposals from Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and Padma Oil Company Limited (POCL). This process was conducted under Sections 34 (4) and 34 (6) of the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003.

The notification further elaborated that the determination of prices for both domestic and international flights was made at the consumer level. This was based on the average published Platts rate of jet fuel from February 5 to March 4, in accordance with Clause 9.2 of BERC Order No. 2025/08, which was issued on May 13 last year.
