Dhaka: The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator and Valiant Freedom Fighter Abdus Salam emphasized the government's commitment to improving service quality through competitive systems during the inauguration of a new Dhaka Bank collection booth at DSCC's Zone-2 (Khilgaon) office. This initiative is part of the government's strategy to enhance revenue collection, streamline the trade license fee process, and provide accessible banking services to citizens.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abdus Salam highlighted the benefits of the new collection booth, stating that local residents will now find it easier to pay various city corporation fees and access services. He reiterated the government's dedication to simplifying citizen services, emphasizing the belief in the direct welfare of the people and the necessity for the City Corporation, funded by taxpayers, to become more dynamic and accountable.

Addressing the issue of water logging, Abdus Salam stressed the importance of citizen awareness in protecting the drainage system, particularly during the monsoon season. He urged the reduction of polythene usage and proper disposal to prevent clogging of drains. "If citizens are aware, the city's service quality can be improved rapidly," he remarked.

Abdus Salam also called upon local residents and political workers to participate in service-oriented activities, encouraging volunteerism as a social responsibility. The event was attended by senior officials of DSCC, representatives from Dhaka Bank, and local elites, underscoring the collaborative effort to improve civic services.
