Chittagong: Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Adviser Supradeep Chakma today emphasized the government's commitment to fostering a nation unified by bonds of unity and goodwill, underscoring the importance of mutual respect and affection in society. "Mutual respect and love is very much needed in our society, so the government is determined to keep the nation bound by ties of unity and friendship," he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adviser Supradeep Chakma made these remarks as the chief guest at the 51st Kathina Robe Offering ceremony held at Rangapani Milan Monastery at Rangapani Kanta memorial football ground. During the event, he inaugurated the festivities by cutting a ribbon, lighting lanterns, and weaving the cheebar, marking the beginning of this significant religious festival.
The Kathina Robe Offering, a notable practice in Buddhism, symbolizes reverence, restraint, and concentration, serving as both a religious observance and a demonstration of social harmony. In his address, Adviser Chakma urged the attendees to uphold the values of brotherhood and tolerance.
He remarked, "The message of peace of religion unites us all. It is our moral responsibility to wish the happiness and prosperity of all beings in the world," highlighting the universal message of peace inherent in religious teachings.
