Dhaka: Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder today announced the government’s intention to establish Bangla as the language of higher study during the third convocation of Prime University, held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Podder emphasized that obtaining a degree alone is not sufficient for the country’s development. He highlighted the importance of acquiring appropriate skills and competence. He remarked on the gap between higher education and employment opportunities, noting that although many pursue higher education, they are not necessarily becoming skilled or entrepreneurial, which affects the economic progress of the nation.
Dr. Podder further stressed the significance of human capability in technological advancement, stating that technical progress must be complemented by human development to lead the country toward progress. He underscored the role of human resources as the primary driver of national development, considering them the most significant resource for the country.
Congratulating the graduates, Dr. Podder expressed his hope that they would serve society and the nation with their acquired knowledge, wisdom, and ethical values. The event also featured a special convocation address by Professor Dr. M. Shamsul Alam, with Prime University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Quazi Deen Mohd Khosru and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Anwar Kamal Pasha in attendance. A total of 1,870 graduates participated in the convocation.
