Dhaka: Ten specially designed ‘Voter Gari’, named the Super Caravan, began nationwide journeys today to campaign for the 13th National Elections and the proposed referendum on the July National Charter. The Super Caravan was formally inaugurated this afternoon at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the campaign was officially launched by Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, along with Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Adviser to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed and Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam were also present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The campaign is centered around the theme ‘Desher Chabi Apnar Hate’ (Country’s Key is in Your Hand). To raise awareness, the Cultural Ministry has prepared seven short TV commercials depicting events like the Felani Murder and Abrar Fahad Murder, as well as themes of neighboring influence and dependency. These will be shown nationwide to engage the public regarding the upcoming national election and referendum.
Officials have stated that the government also plans to produce at least 30 more TV commercials to further the campaign’s reach and effectiveness.
