Government to Include National Athletes in Structured Salary Scheme: State Minister Aminul

Dhaka: State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque announced that the government plans to implement a structured salary framework for national-level athletes. This initiative aims to improve athletes’ living standards and ensure their future security, positioning sports as a respectable profession.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the state minister shared this information during a view-exchange meeting with managing directors and chief executive officers of leading banks and financial institutions at the National Sports Council’s conference room. He emphasized the role of banks and financial institutions in the development of the sports sector and in fostering professionalism among athletes.



Additionally, the minister revealed plans to launch the ‘Notun Kuri Sports’ program, which aims to identify talented players from the grassroots level nationwide immediately after Eid-ul-Fitr. He also highlighted financial challenges faced by some sports federations and encouraged banks and financial institutions to engage in sponsorships to support various sports disciplines.



During the meeting, executives from the financial sector expressed their support for the ministry’s initiative and were pleased to see a sports personality as the State Minister. They committed to collaborating to elevate the country’s sports sector to a global standard.
