Dhaka: The government has announced the release of the 'Integrated Policy on Fertiliser Dealership and Distribution-2025' aimed at streamlining the fertilizer distribution system. The policy, signed by the agricultural ministry's additional secretary Ahmed Faisal Imam, was officially published on Thursday, as per an official release.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the new policy has been formulated with the approval of the fertilizer affairs national coordination and consultation committee. It aims to systematically provide timely fertilizer access to farmers. The policy is scheduled to take effect from November 16, 2025, and seeks to ensure accountability among stakeholders, reduce corruption, and guarantee fair pricing for farmers.

The policy consolidates fertiliser distribution and management under a single framework by eliminating separate dealers for the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation and the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation. Each union will now host three government-registered dealers, and sub-dealers will no longer be permitted to operate under the new regulations.

To uphold the integrity of the dealership program, the process for cancellation and renewal of dealerships will undergo more intensive evaluation. The policy has been published on the agricultural ministry's website, www.moa.gov.bd. For any queries or clarifications, individuals are encouraged to contact the agricultural ministry at 02-55100351 or 02-55100495.
