Dhaka: The government has denied the rumour of concealing information regarding the casualties in the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) fighter jet crash on the Milestone School and College campus in the capital's Uttara, leaving 27 people killed.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the government expressed concern over the spread of misinformation, clarifying that all claims about concealing casualty information are unfounded. A press release from the Chief Adviser's press wing emphasized the administration's commitment to transparency in this matter.
The government, along with the army administration, school, and hospital authorities, is diligently working to ensure the publication of an accurate list of those who were killed and injured in the incident. Citizens are urged to contact the school authorities immediately if anyone is still missing following the accident.
A control room has been established at the school to facilitate communication and verification efforts. The school's registry books and other documents are being meticulously examined to ascertain if any individuals remain unaccounted for.
In a concerted effort to support the victims and their families, the government is extending comprehensive assistance to those affected by this tragic event. The process of verifying and listing the identities of all deceased is underway, with DNA tests being utilized to identify bodies that cannot be immediately recognized.
Additionally, the government has implemented extensive measures to ensure that the injured receive appropriate medical treatment in several hospitals across Dhaka.
