Dhaka: The government has withdrawn five Bangladeshi envoys from their overseas postings and instructed them to report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Dhaka, the ministry said today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Sunday announcing the withdrawal of four ambassadors who were appointed on a contractual basis. These ambassadors were stationed in Portugal, Poland, Mexico, and the Maldives. The names of the ambassadors are Dr. M. Mahfuzul Haque, Md Mainul Islam, M Mushfiqul Fazal (Ansarey), and Dr. Md Nazmul Islam.
The statement further elaborated that these ambassadors have been transferred to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka. Additionally, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Abida Islam, has also been recalled from her post and transferred to the ministry’s headquarters.
All five envoys have been instructed to report to the headquarters, the ministry confirmed.
