Government Intensifies Monitoring After Earthquake Tremors Across Country

Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus announced today that the government is closely monitoring the situation following a 5.7 magnitude earthquake that struck various parts of the country, including the capital, at approximately 10:40 am. He emphasized the urgency by directing all concerned offices to immediately assess potential damages at the field level.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Adviser assured the public that the government is fully aware of the anxiety caused by the earthquake tremors and is prioritizing public safety. He stated that the fire service personnel are actively responding to damage reports from different regions, including the capital.



Prof Yunus also advised citizens to disregard rumors and misinformation, urging them to remain vigilant. He mentioned that further instructions would be communicated through hotlines and official government channels if necessary, reinforcing the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens.
