Accra:The government is intensifying its efforts to address juvenile gang activities by establishing anti-juvenile gang committees in every upazila. This initiative is spearheaded by the Home Ministry in a bid to enhance control over youth-related violence.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) will lead these committees as presidents, with the officers-in-charge (OCs) of the local police stations serving as member-secretaries.
This initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to a more robust administrative and law enforcement strategy. By bringing local administration and police under a unified framework, the plan aims to enhance monitoring, coordination, and preventive measures against gang involvement at the grassroots level.
As public concerns over youth violence and safety continue to grow, the government's decision underscores its determination to tackle the issue of juvenile gangs more effectively.
