Government Approves Wheat Procurement on G2G Basis

Dhaka: The government has approved a proposal in principle to procure wheat on a government-to-government (G2G) basis to address the country's increasing demand. This decision aligns with Section 68 (1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2006, and Section 76 (2) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2008.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the government has also decided to shorten the timeframe for the wheat procurement process through international tenders. This decision is made in accordance with Section 83 (1) (Ka) of the Public Procurement Rules, 2008. The decisions were made during the 15th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, held at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
