Dhaka: The government has given its in-principle approval for a proposal to implement civic services operations through the Direct Procurement Method (DPM) at both division and district levels. This decision was reached during the 28th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired virtually by Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the committee also approved a proposal from the Health Services Division to supply the GeneXpert Cartridge using the DPM method. This initiative is aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted detection of Tuberculosis patients under the National Tuberculosis Control Programme, with the supply set to continue until June 2026.

Furthermore, the meeting sanctioned two proposals from the Ministry of Housing and Public Works. These proposals involve the implementation of both the civil and electrical/mechanical (E/M) aspects of the 'July Uprising Memorial Museum' project. The project will be executed under the Open Tender Method (OTM) as delegated works.
