Dhaka: The government has announced plans to recruit 10,219 assistant teachers for government primary schools across the country. This initiative aims to enhance the educational framework by filling vacant teaching positions, thereby improving the student-to-teacher ratio.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has called for applications for these positions. The recruitment process is open to permanent residents of all upazilas/thanas in the Rangpur, Barishal, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Mymensingh divisions. The DPE issued a circular regarding this recruitment drive, which outlines the eligibility criteria and application process.
The available positions fall under the pay scale of 2015, with a salary range of 11,000 to 26,590 (Grade-13). Applicants must be between 21 and 32 years of age as of November 30, 2025. Academic qualifications include holding at least a second class or equivalent CGPA in a Bachelor’s or Bachelor’s (Honours) degree from a recognized university. The circular specifies that any third class or equivalent GPA/CGPA at any level of education will not be considered eligible.
Candidates interested in applying must submit their applications online. The application window is set to open on November 8, 2025, at 10:30 am and will close on November 21, 2025, at 11:59 pm. This recruitment drive represents a significant step toward strengthening the education sector in the country.
