Dhaka: Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, announced that ‘Google Pay’, a leading digital payment service, is slated to officially launch in Bangladesh within the next month. Asif Mahmud shared this news on his verified Facebook page, highlighting the end of a long wait for this service’s formal introduction to the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Asif Mahmud emphasized that the platform will commence operations in digital transactions soon, allowing smartphone users to transform their devices into comprehensive digital wallets. This development is expected to minimize the reliance on carrying physical debit or credit cards, offering a more convenient and secure payment method for users across Bangladesh.
