Khulna: Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, Mia Golam Parwar, has called for unity among Islamic and like-minded patriotic parties to build a new Bangladesh through the July Charter. Addressing a meeting in Dumuria upazila, Khulna, he emphasized the need for collective effort to create a nation free from interest-based economy, corruption, and injustice.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Golam Parwar envisions a Bangladesh where all citizens, regardless of religion, enjoy equal rights and justice. He criticized the previous government's oppressive actions against scholars and religious leaders, claiming they faced unjust imprisonment and torture. He alleged that the government was responsible for the death of Allama Sayeedi under the guise of medical treatment.
Golam Parwar, also a parliamentary candidate for the Khulna-5 constituency, urged unity among scholars, religious leaders, and patriotic citizens in the upcoming elections. He called for a collective vote for the 'scale' to challenge and overcome subservient and hegemonic forces.
The public meetings, chaired by Abdul Gani Khan, Amir of Dumuria Union Jamaat-e-Islami, took place at Khalshi Government Primary School ground and Dumuria Majidia Senior Madrasa ground. Several key figures, including Khulna District Jamaat Amir Mawlana Emran Hossain, Assistant Secretary Munsi Moinul Islam, Professor Mia Golam Quddus, Advocate Abu Yusuf Molla, and District Chhatra Shibir President Yusuf Fakir, also addressed the gathering.
