Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced today that the Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Nazmul Karim Khan will be issued a show cause notice regarding the closure of the Dhaka-Gazipur lane of the flyover during his travels to and from Gazipur.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser stated, “We have discussed the issue. The GMP Commissioner will be served a show cause notice in this connection,” while responding to a journalist’s question. He addressed the press after attending a meeting of the Core Committee on law and order at the Home Ministry in the Bangladesh Secretariat.
The lane closure on the flyover has been a source of inconvenience for many, particularly affecting office workers commuting between Gazipur and Dhaka.
