Bagerhat: The ‘Global Handwashing Day 2025’ was observed in Mollahat upazila of Bagerhat through various programs. This year’s theme was ‘Be a Handwashing Hero.’ On the occasion, a colorful rally, organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Public Health Engineering, paraded different roads and ended at the Garfa Model Government Primary School ground. Later, a handwashing demonstration was held there.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, speakers at the event emphasized that handwashing is a simple but vital habit that can protect people from germs and infectious diseases. They urged everyone to practice proper handwashing and encourage others to do the same. Upazila Executive Officer Shyamananda Kundu attended the event as the chief guest, while Upazila Livestock Officer Md. Abul Hasan, Agriculture Officer Md. Matiyor Rahman, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Rajib Roy, and Statistics Officer Haider Mia, among others, were present.
Officials of the Upazila Administration, along with teachers and students from educational institutions, health workers, and individuals from different walks of life, also participated in the event. The day aimed to motivate and mobilize people worldwide to improve their handwashing habits.
