Dhaka: Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD), in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has launched a project focused on enhancing export data transparency for the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). The initiative is part of the Sustainability in the Textile and Leather sector (STILE II) program by GIZ.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the project’s kick-off meeting took place at the GIZ project office in the city, bringing together representatives from both GIZ and BUILD. The meeting was attended by Dr. Michael Klode, Project Manager of STILE II at GIZ, while BUILD was represented by its CEO Ferdaus Ara Begum.
The project is designed to analyze export processes and data collection methods used by comparator countries such as South Korea, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The goal is to provide the EPB with recommendations to ensure transparency in export data and to enhance their capacity, drawing on evidence from these countries and rigorous research findings

Present at the meeting were Rayan Sharif, ICT and Digitization Advisor at GIZ, and Md. Easin Didar, Knowledge Management Assistant at GIZ, who interacted with the BUILD team. The BUILD team included Senior Research Associate Shahriar Rawshon, Research Associate Ahmed Julker Nine, and Research Associate Asif Haider, who are tasked with preparing action activities for the project’s implementation.
