Islamabad: The Bangladesh Embassy in Islamabad today observed Genocide Day-2025 with due solemnity. All officials and staff of the embassy were present during the event. On the occasion, they wore black badges at the beginning of the day, according to a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a discussion was held at the mission to mark the day. Ambassador Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan was the key speaker at the event. The proceedings commenced with the observance of a minute of silence in remembrance of 3 million martyrs who sacrificed their lives during Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971. Later, a message given by the Chief Advisor was read out marking the day.
In his speech, Iqbal Hussain paid tributes to those who embraced martyrdom on the night of March 25. He emphasized the importance of upholding the rights of the people by maintaining the democratic process.
Following the discussion, a special Doa Mahfil was held for the forgiveness of the souls of all martyrs who sacrificed their lives against injustice on the night of March 25, 1971, and during the July uprising.
