Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy has reiterated his call to the interim government to declare the national election roadmap quickly to restore people's democratic right to vote. 'People are ready to exercise their voting rights. So, announce the date of polls without making any delay to meet the people's aspirations,' he said. Gayeshwar was addressing a workers' meeting of the party's at Zinzira Union in Keraniganj upazila here today. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Gayeshwar emphasized the urgency of declaring the election roadmap to ensure the democratic engagement of the citizens. He expressed concerns over ongoing conspiracies, urging everyone to stay vigilant to thwart any such attempts. The meeting saw participation from key BNP leaders, including Dhaka District Unit General Secretary and Keraniganj Thana President Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Keraniganj Upazila BNP elderly leader and national executive committee member Nizam Uddin Mas ter, and South Keraniganj Thana BNP General Secretary Mozadded Ali Babu. Zinzira Union BNP President Hazi Mokarram Hossain Sajjad chaired the meeting, which was moderated by its General Secretary Ashraf Hossain. The meeting underscored the party's commitment to upholding democratic principles and ensuring a fair electoral process.
