Fund raising campaign to purchase Haematology Analyzer machine

Former students of Janata Secondary School located in Bardibas municipality-2 have started a fund raising campaign to purchase a Hematology Analyzer machine. For this they have set up an organization called Bardibas Helping Hands. Meanwhile, the organisation handed over Rs 59,000 collected for the purchase of the equipment to Nepal Red Cross Society Bardibas sub-branch on Saturday. Hematology analyzers are used to count and identify blood cells at high speed with accuracy. On the occasion, Minister of State for Home, Law and Communications of Madhes Shardadevi Thapa also pledged to support on her part as an alumnus of Janata Secondary School. Since none of the district hospitals in Madhes province have the Complete Blood Count (CBC) machine, there is a compulsion to depend on federal capital Kathmandu or outside the country. "Bardibas Helping Hands has started the campaign by handing over the cash while many social organizations and the local level of the district have shown interest in helping us", said Rewant Karki, Chairperson of the Red Cross Society. According to Karki, the current market price of the CBC machine is around 11 million rupees. Source: National News Agency Nepal
