Munshiganj: A team of district Detective Branch (DB) Police today detained an accused, who along with another one escaped from police custody last week, from the Launch Terminal area under Munshiganj district. The fugitive, Anowar Hossain, had fled while he was getting into a jail-bound police van at the Chittagong court building premises after police were producing him before a court, police said. Anowar has been accused in a case filed with Sitakunda police on charges of his involvement in drug peddling.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, earlier, police arrested another fugitive, Iqbal Hossain Emon, who along with Anowar escaped from police custody from the Tulatali area under Khulshi thana in the city on April 30 night. Iqbal has been accused in a murder case filed with Sitakunda police of the district.
