Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 arrested a fugitive convict during a drive in Khulna city on Thursday. The arrested individual was identified as Biplob Sheikh, also known as Bikram Sheikh, a resident of the Chalitakhali area in the Pirojpur district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Biplob Sheikh had been sentenced to a total of 12 and a half years’ imprisonment in three drug-related cases and had been evading capture. Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-6 team conducted a drive in front of the main gate of Khulna Medical College Hospital, leading to the arrest of the fugitive.
The arrestee has a total of nine cases filed against him in various police stations across Bagerhat, Pirojpur, and Khulna metropolitan areas. Of these, seven cases are related to drugs, while the remaining include an assault case and a dacoity case.
