Dhaka: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13, in collaboration with RAB-10, successfully apprehended a fugitive convict, Sheikh Masudur Rahman alias Rubel, aged 55, on Sunday. The arrest took place in the Boragram Chairmanbari Mor area under the jurisdiction of Kamrangirchar police station in Dhaka. Rahman was previously sentenced to five years in prison in connection with a fraud case in Gaibandha.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press release revealed that Rahman is the son of the late Abdur Rahman Sarkar from the village of Moruadaha under the Sundarganj police station in the Gaibandha district. Acting on a tip-off, a coordinated effort by the RAB-13's Gaibandha Camp and RAB-10's Lalbagh Camp led to Rahman's capture at 6:15 pm on Sunday.
The arrested individual has since been transferred to the Sundarganj police station in Gaibandha for further legal proceedings. Previously, a Gaibandha court had sentenced Rahman to five years of rigorous imprisonment in a fraud case and subsequently issued an arrest warrant against him.
