Fugitive Arrested in Khulna Jubo Dal Leader Murder Case

Khulna: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested a fugitive accused in the murder of Jubo Dal leader Murad Khan in Khulna. The arrestee was identified as Masud alias Baka Masud, 34, son of Baka Mia, a resident of Senhati area under Dighalia upazila.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a joint team of RAB-6 headquarters and Bhatiapara Camp conducted a drive on Monday around 4:05 pm based on secret information. They apprehended Masud near Jhama Government Primary School under Mohammadpur Thana in Magura district.



The case statement reveals that on February 27, Baka Masud, along with 11 named and 12-13 unidentified accomplices, attacked Murad Khan near Bakshi Bari Technical Training Centre. They used sharp weapons and iron rods, leaving him critically injured. Khan was taken to Dighalia Upazila Health Complex and later to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where he died around 6:20 pm the same day.



Murad Khan’s wife, Jannatul Mawa, subsequently filed a murder case with Dighalia Police Station against the accused and others. RAB officials have confirmed that Masud has been handed over to Rupsha Police Station for further legal action.
