Dhaka: The Energy and Mineral Resources Division has urged citizens not to panic or purchase excess fuel, assuring that the country’s fuel stock and supply remain completely normal.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the government is actively purchasing the necessary fuel from the international market to maintain an uninterrupted supply that meets demand. This initiative ensures there is no imminent risk of a fuel shortage, as confirmed by a press release from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The statement also highlighted the dangers associated with privately storing petrol, octane, and diesel, given their highly flammable nature. It emphasized that strict measures are being enforced against individuals engaged in illicit fuel hoarding to gain undue profit.
Mobile courts, led by executive magistrates, are operational in every district to curb illegal fuel stockpiling activities. The government has also assured that there has been no increase in fuel prices, urging the public not to be swayed by misinformation.
