Dhaka: With the commitment to environmental conservation and building a green Bangladesh, a tree plantation programme was held at BCSIR Laboratory High School located in Binodpur Bazar under Motihar Metropolitan Thana in Rajshahi. On the occasion, saplings of various species of fruit and forest trees were distributed among the students of the school.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, with the theme "Country First, Let Environment Be Our Inspiration," the students participating in the programme reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the environment through patriotic slogans. Present at the event were former Joint Convener of Motihar Thana BNP Bashir Uddin Sony, Convener of Ward No. 30 South Jubodal Saidur Islam Sumon, President of Motihar Thana JASAS Md. Al Amin Milan, along with other local dignitaries.
The speakers emphasized the importance of tree plantation as a measure to combat the adverse effects of climate change and to build a livable Bangladesh for the next generation. They highlighted that planting trees is not sufficient; regular care of each tree must also be ensured. The call was made for everyone to plant at least one tree and take care of it diligently.
After the programme, saplings of various species of trees were planted on the school premises and its surrounding areas. The students participated in the programme with enthusiasm, expressing their determination to play an active and responsible role in environmental conservation in the future as well.
