Kishoreganj: A special mobile court jointly led by senior judicial magistrate and safe food court judge Ariful Islam today fined a total of Tk 5 lakh to four food processing companies in Kishoreganj. The fines were imposed for processing foods without having trade licenses and preparing in unhygienic and unhealthy way.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the companies fined include Tasin Food located at Zashodal market in Kishoreganj Sadar upazila, Chand Food at Gochihata bazar in Kotiyadi upazila, Shonar Madina Food at Maijjhati bazar under Pakundia upazila, and Hozaifa Bakery at Dwariakandi Bus stand under Kuliarchar upazila. The magistrate's drive led to the recovery and destruction of unhealthy and harmful colors and rotten eggs.
Tasin Food received a fine of Tk 2 lakh, while the other three companies were fined Tk 1 lakh each. The operation included participation from Kishoreganj Safe Food officer Md Ahsraful Islam Talukdar, district sanitary inspector Sangkar Chandra Pal, and teams from RAB and police.
