Narail: Four shops were gutted by a fire at Lahuria Bazar in Lohagara upazila of Narail early Friday. The incident, which occurred at around 3:00am, caused significant damage to local businesses.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the fire originated at Bakul Sheikh's Satata Furniture and Hardware. The local Fire Service and Civil Defence office indicated that an electrical short circuit is believed to be the cause of the fire. The flames quickly spread to three nearby furniture shops, exacerbating the damage.
Firefighters were promptly alerted and managed to bring the fire under control after an hour of effort. The response was swift, yet the damage had already been done. The shop owners have estimated the financial loss resulting from the fire to be approximately Tk 13 lakh.
