Dhaka: Four more children have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, with 1,005 individuals newly affected by measles and measles-like symptoms during the same period, as reported by a press release from the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the number of suspected measles cases recorded in the past 24 hours was 870, increasing the total number of suspected measles cases to 127,410 from March 15 to July 30. Additionally, 135 confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, raising the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 15,874 since March 15.
The release further noted that while four deaths from suspected measles were reported in the past 24 hours, no deaths from confirmed measles occurred during this time. Since March 15, a total of 739 children have died from suspected measles, and the total number of deaths from confirmed measles stood at 96 as of July 30.
