Manikganj:Four hospitals and diagnostic centers in Manikganj were fined a total of Tk 1.90 lakh for irregularities discovered during a special drive conducted by the Department of Health.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the drive, part of regular programs to address issues in the medical sector, took place in the town areas of Manikganj District. Civil Surgeon Dr. Ivi Ferdous led the operation, uncovering several irregularities in the facilities.
Executive Magistrate Md. Shayekh Shihab Uddin conducted the mobile court proceedings. As a result, Manikganj Orthopedic and General Hospital was fined Tk 55,000, Swapno General Hospital and Diagnostics Center Tk 45,000, Niramoy Nursing Home Tk 40,000, and Manikganj Apollo Hospital Tk 50,000. In addition to the fines, all the hospitals and diagnostic centers were sealed.
Dr. Ivi Ferdous stated that such drives will continue in the public interest, aiming to maintain standards in the health sector.
