Madaripur: Four people were killed when a passenger bus hit an easy bike in the Ghatakchar area under Sadar upazila here on Sunday evening. One of the deceased was identified as Pannu Munshi, a resident of the College Road area of the district town. The identities of the other deceased could not be known immediately.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred around 6:00 pm on the Dhaka-Barisal highway when a bus of ‘Sarbik Paribahan’ dashed an easy bike. The collision left two passengers of the easy bike and the bus helper dead on the spot.
Another person who was injured in the accident was rescued and taken to Madaripur Sadar Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries later, bringing the death toll to four. The incident was confirmed by Madaripur Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad.
