Dhaka:A court placed four individuals on remand in connection with a sedition case involving an attempt to deface a Rabindranath Tagore graffiti in front of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka's Segunbagicha area.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Al Nur Mohammad Ayash and Sakibul Hasan were remanded for three days each, while Sujon Miah and Marjia Khandaker Rimi were given two-day remands. The Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Jashita Islam, issued the remand orders after the police sought a ten-day remand for each defendant.

The case documents reveal that a group of youths attempted to damage the Tagore graffiti on October 10. When police intervened, an altercation ensued, leading to the detention of the four individuals. They were subsequently arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy, promoting enmity among different groups, and offending religious sentiments.
